Welcome to British Railway Pics!!
I live in the Leeds/Bradford area and have a great interest in photographing Britain's ever-changing railway scene.
Looking back through my rather limited, but forever increasing, archive, we see how the situation changed over the past couple of years with the arrival of many ex-Wales/-Wessex 158s, displaced either by ex-transpennine 158s/175s or our very own 142s! :-)
Also featured is the major franchise-shakeup which took place on 11th Nov. 2008, including the transition from Silverlink / Central / Midland Mainline, to London Midland & East Midlands Trains respectively and Virgin losing Cross Country to Arriva, followed by GNER becoming NXEC. Also present is the mass relivery-programme for Northern's mixed-bag of DMUs, including vinyling of the cl.333 EMUs which was then stopped due to the poor quality of the vinyls!!
On the freight scene, we see Freightliner & GBRf expanding and both carry coal now, along with the arrival of (Jarvis-) Fastline on the freight scene as well.
My main 'hang-out' is West Yorkshire, Leeds in particular, with Manchester, York & Doncaster following close-behind.
New Years Resolution: 'get out more' and broaden my horizons to Wales, Scotland and the SE and actually live-up to 'British Railway Pics'!
